Principal's Letter

Welcome to Davie County High School!

An educator with over 20 years of experience, I am proud to have been named the principal of Davie County High School at the start of the 2021-2022 school year. After earning my Bachelor of Arts degree in history with a concentration in  secondary education as a Teaching Fellow from Elon University in 2003, I attended Appalachian State University for a  Master's degree in history, a certificate in school leadership, and an advanced specialist degree in educational leadership. I  have been a teacher, district lead teacher, assistant principal, and principal at the middle and high school levels. Throughout the course of my career, I have taught numerous courses in the social sciences, English, and yearbook/photojournalism, and my heart will always be in the classroom with students.

As the principal of the only comprehensive traditional high school in Davie County, I strive to provide our students and community with a learner-focused environment, world-class experiences, and opportunities to learn, grow, and explore. In addition to our traditional academic program, we have a STEM school within a school, an award-winning visual and performing arts department, and an exceptional on-site CTE program featuring options such as health sciences, business/entrepreneurship, drafting, marketing, graphic design, carpentry, masonry, and automotive services. When you factor those options with our exhaustive list of clubs and organizations and our numerous athletic and extracurricular offerings, our school is indeed one Davie High for all.

Davie County High School has a mantra: “In this school, we believe all students can learn, and they will learn because of what we do. What we do matters.” These are more than just words; they are ideas woven into everything we do and every decision we make. Our staff prides itself  on our commitments to student success and continuous improvement. The future is bright at Davie County High School, and I invite you to be a part of our supportive and imaginative community of learners!
