Michael Pruitt, Principal
Mr. Pruitt has been in education for nearly 20 years, most recently serving as principal at North Davie Middle School, and before that as the assistant principal at Davie County High School for four years.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Elon University, and a master’s in history and secondary education from Appalachian State University. He also earned his EdS in 2019 and is working toward his doctorate in Education from Appalachian.
Pruitt has been an N.C. Teaching Fellow and was named District Teacher of the Year in Wilkes County. Mr. Pruitt lives in Clemmons and says he is a life-long student who loves to cook, read, travel to historic places, and spend time with his niece and two nephews.
Chelsea Dvorak, Assistant Principal | Freshmen
Ms. Dvorak has been in education for over 15 years, 6 of which were spent as the assistant principal at South Davie Middle, where she helped spearhead the Ron Clark House System. Prior to that, she taught science at North Forsyth High in Winston-Salem for 8 years. She earned her bachelor's degree in Science Education from Western Carolina University and her master's in Educational Leadership from High Point University in 2017. She is currently working on her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from High Point. Ms. Dvorak has been a Certified Trauma and Resilience Practitioner in Education since 2021, and in 2021, she was named the Davie County Assistant Principal of the Year. She has been the lead for the Summer Bridge Camp program since 2022.
Ms. Dvorak lives in Yadkinville and enjoys working out, live music, spending time with her dog Bambi, and baking.
Tracey Everhart, Assistant Principal | Student Names Pe-Z
Mrs. Everhart is at the beginning of her 25th year in education. She has taught elementary and middle school, and most of her experience teaching has been the middle school level. Tracey was an instructional coach for two years and has begun her 4th year as an assistant principal at the middle and high levels.
Mrs. Everhart received her bachelor's degree in education, master's degree in curriculum and instruction, and a post-master's certificate in educational leadership from UNC-G. Tracey's relaxation occurs at the beach and when reading. She is happiest when she and her husband spend time with their children, grandchildren, and fur babies.
Tracy Reese, Assistant Principal | Student Names Goo-Pa
Mrs. Reese joins the Davie County Schools family with 15 years of experience in education, most recently as a Math Teacher and Department Chair at Hickory Career and Arts Magnet High School. In this role she also served as a Professional Learning Community facilitator, beginning teacher mentor, and Chair of the School Leadership Team. Mrs. Reese has earned the honor of Teacher of the Year in Hickory Public Schools and was nominated for Teacher of the Year while serving in Iredell-Statesville Schools.
Mrs. Reese holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from UNC Charlotte, and earned her Masters in School Administration from Appalachian State University in 2020. She and her husband are the proud parents of five children and four grandchildren. She enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, and camping.
Alvin Rubin, Assistant Principal | Student Names | A-Gon
Mr. Rubin has been in education for over 24 years, serving as assistant principal for Davie County High school for 9 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Biology and later his master’s at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC.
He taught for 14+ years at Thomasville High school as a science teacher and held leadership roles as science department chair, lead the SPACE (Students Pursuing A Career in Science) program, and was an active member of various afterschool and summer programs. Rubin was named teacher of the year during his tenure at Thomasville. He is actively involved in his community and church. Mr. Rubin lives in Davidson County (Midway), where he is a lifelong resident.
