Doyle Nicholson, Principal
Mr. Nicholson has served as an assistant principal at Davie High since 2012 and was named the Davie County Schools’ District Assistant Principal of the Year for 2013-2014. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, and School Administration Licensure from Appalachian State University.
Nicholson was a mathematics teacher at Mount Tabor High School from 2006 until 2012.
He also taught math at Forbush High School from 1992 to 2006. Nicholson was named the Forbush High School Teacher of the Year and the Yadkin County Teacher of the Year for 2005-2006, Mountain Valley Conference Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2003, was the advisor for the “All North Carolina” Yearbook in 1999, Mountain Valley Conference Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year in 1998, Yadkinville Jaycees Outstanding Young Educator in 1997, and a North Carolina Teaching Fellow in 1988.
Nicholson has been a Virtual Coach for the Center for Teaching Quality (CTQ) since 2009 and has been published in Education Week Teacher and the Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education. He also served as a National Board Candidate Support Seminar facilitator at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching from 2004 to 2010.
Mr. Nicholson is married to Gretchen and has two daughters, Cora and Kate.
Mrs. Wendi Maglio, Assistant Principal | Student Names Kio-Ric
Mrs. Maglio has been in education for 26 years, with a strong background in Exceptional Children. She has taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels and held leadership roles at the high school level. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University, Mrs. Maglio earned her Masters in Executive Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. Mrs. Maglio lives in Winston-Salem with her husband and children.
Demario Reid, Assistant Principal | Student Names Doo-Kin
Mr. Reid has been in education for 12 years, most recently as the dean of students at Ben L. Smith High School in Greensboro. He has also served as a teacher and coach; and is a strong community leader, youth advocate, and motivator who capitalizes on cultural relevance in education to inspire, empower and motivate students. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a concentration in Business Communication from North Carolina A&T State University, he earned his Master of Education in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University and later earned his Post Masters Certificate in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Mr. Reid lives in High Point and is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Cheryl Reeves, Assistant Principal | Student Names Rid-Z
Mrs. Reeves has been in education for 13 years. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from East Carolina in Elementary Education and two Master's Degrees from UNCG. She is also a North Carolina Principal Fellow. Her years of experience include roles as a teacher assistant/bus driver, teacher, and most recently as a math impact coach in Guilford County Schools. She brings a fresh outlook and perspective to Davie County High School through her past experiences in various roles.
Mrs. Reeves lives in High Point with her husband and children. She enjoys attending her children's extracurricular activities, especially marching band competitions and parades.
